Man dragged 6 km on a car bonnet has triggered outrage across Mumbai after a viral video showed a shocking road incident following a parking dispute at Vile Parle airport. The drama unfolded when a cab driver confronted the driver of a white Ertiga, who was waiting at the terminal for a pick-up. A heated argument turned physical, drawing attention from other cab drivers.
Amid rising tensions, the Ertiga driver, Bhimprasad Gyani Mahto, attempted to flee. In a desperate move, the cabbie jumped in front of the vehicle and ended up clinging to its bonnet. Undeterred, Mahto sped off with the man still hanging on. Eyewitnesses filmed the terrifying ride through Mumbai’s traffic, capturing the victim pleading for the car to stop.
The car finally halted near Jogeshwari, almost 6 km from the airport. The video’s circulation online led to swift police action. Mahto, 24, has been arrested and charged under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Motor Vehicles Act.
Police have launched a joint investigation and urged the public to remain calm and follow the law. The incident has sparked debates around road rage and safety in high-security areas.
