In a disturbing incident, two food delivery agents have been booked for assaulting a man and his driver after water from their car splashed onto the accused on MG Road in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area. The episode occurred on Tuesday and came to light following a complaint lodged at the Tilak Nagar police station.
According to the 50-year-old complainant, water on a road stretch accidentally splashed on two individuals riding a two-wheeler next to their car. This triggered the accused, identified as Asif Arif Khan (21) and Chitrangan Hiralal Agarwal (35), who intercepted the car and allegedly began attacking the driver without warning.
The situation escalated when the complainant attempted to intervene, only to be struck with a helmet by one of the enraged food delivery agents. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, but the violent behavior prompted immediate legal action.
Using the registration number of the two-wheeler, police identified the suspects and confirmed that they were working as food delivery partners for a private company. A case has since been registered against both individuals, and further investigation is underway.
This incident underscores growing concerns about aggression among gig workers and highlights the need for better conflict resolution mechanisms in high-pressure jobs like food delivery.
