Impressive Deva Box Office Collection Day 6: Shahid Kapoor’s Blockbuster Crosses ₹25 Crore Mark

Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde in their latest film Deva, which is directed by Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrews has gone past the ₹25 crore mark at the box office. The Hindi remake of the 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police was released on January 31 and has so far done steady business with a decline in collections on weekdays. According to early estimates from Sacnilk.com, Deva has so far earned a gross of ₹26.65 crore.
The film had a good start with ₹5.5 crore on its first day, the film had a 16.36% growth on Saturday, i.e., it collected ₹6.4 crore. However, there was a huge decline in the footfall on Monday as there was a 62.07% drop in the collection. On its sixth day, it managed to collect ₹2.35 crore, which is the lowest amount that it has gathered in a single day so far.
The plot of Deva revolves around the character of ACP Dev Ambre, played by Shahid Kapoor, a police officer who loses his memory while investigating the murder of his best friend. Pooja Hegde plays his love interest, Diya Sathaye, a journalist who helps him in the investigation. Pavail Gulati and Kubbra Sait have also played important parts in the movie.
Before the release of the film, Shahid Kapoor took to social media to post a heartfelt message about how committed he was to the project. He has also shared behind-the-scenes photos on his Instagram account and wrote, “One year of blood, sweat, and tears. Deva is my heart, my soul, my love for acting and my creative journey.”
Whether the film has done decent business at the box office or not, it will be interesting to see how Deva performs in the coming days. The word of mouth is good for the film so the fans are expecting that the film will be able to maintain its pace in the coming days. For now, Deva remains to be a decent addition to the filmography of Shahid Kapoor.
